Stephanie Wood
Head Instructor for Paragon Farm South at Dutch Mill Farms
Stephanie has been in the equine industry for over 25 years as a rider, and 15 years as an instructor. Her passion is correct communication between horse and rider by utilizing a mixture of techniques she has learned from the many instructors she has had the pleasure to work with. Her main instructor, and business partner Greta Heimbold holds the biggest place in her life! Stephanie has ample training experience from breaking babies to finishing upper level hunters and jumpers. She has warmed up GP horses for riders, shown as a professional at rated and non-rated shows.
Next to her training and instructor experience, she also has a good medical background thanks to her mother who worked as an equine anesthesiologist and veterinary technician for 15 years at Mid Atlantic Equine Hospital.
Stephanie also has a bachelors degree in Biology, and has extensively studied the equine anatomy and physiology which gives her a realistic look into how a horse moves, communicates, and feels what the rider is doing and what is being asked of it. This knowledge is key to a happy, consistent and winning horse and rider combo!
